Group Learning and School Culture<\/b><\/h4>

At Guliverio Akademija, we see the school not simply as a place where subjects are taught, but as <\/span>a living organisation \u2014 dynamic, complex, and shaped by the relationships within it.<\/span><\/h4>\n

Every day, students and teachers participate in groups: classes, teams, friendships, <\/span>and the wider school community. These experiences are <\/span>not just part of schooling - they are central to how young people learn to understand themselves and others. Belonging to a group gives <\/span>identity and supports the development of positive self-esteem.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our work is influenced by the Tavistock tradition of Group Relations, a field of study developed to nderstand how people <\/span>behave in groups and organisations.<\/span><\/p>\n

We believe that learning is not only individual. It happens through interaction with others, and the quality of those interactions matters. <\/span>Learning is not only from books - it also comes from the experience <\/span>of being a member of a group.<\/span><\/p>\n

While many schools focus primarily on individual achievement, we also <\/span>focus on how students function within groups - because this is how life works beyond school. <\/span>rib\u0173.<\/span><\/p>\n

Students spend thousands of hours during their school years working in groups. <\/span>These experiences can be productive and supportive, or confusing and frustrating.<\/span><\/p>\n

We help students to understand what is happening in a group, recognise their role within it, <\/span>and make more thoughtful choices about how they participate.<\/span><\/p>\n

This includes listening and contributing effectively, managing disagreement, taking <\/span>responsibility within a team, and leading when appropriate while also supporting others. <\/span>Students learn to think critically, find their voice, take responsibility for themselves and others, and contribute to positive change. <\/span>teigiam\u0173 poky\u010di\u0173.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our approach is influenced by the work of Wilfred Bion, who observed that groups operate <\/span>on both a task level and an emotional level. When the emotional side is not understood, it <\/span>can interfere with learning and collaboration.<\/span><\/p>\n

By helping students and teachers become more aware of these dynamics, we create <\/span>classrooms where learning is more focused, relationships are more constructive, and <\/span>students feel more confident participating.<\/span><\/p>\n

Today\u2019s world places increasing emphasis on individuality, often shaped by social media <\/span>and digital environments. While independence is important, real life still depends on the <\/span>ability to work effectively with others.<\/span><\/p>\n

At Guliverio Akademija, we aim to develop students who can think independently and also <\/span>work productively in groups, understand others, and contribute to shared goals. We are <\/span>raising students who will be able to live and be successful in a multicultural society.<\/span><\/p>\n

We see our school as an open system - one that reflects the society we live in, while also <\/span>preparing students to shape it.<\/span><\/p>\n

By developing awareness of group processes, we are helping students become thoughtful <\/span>participants, responsible team members, and capable leaders.<\/span><\/p>\n
